BERKELEY, Calif.—Right-handed pitcher Darren Jansen tossed 4.0 scoreless innings, Dalton Bowling and Theo Hardy each hit a home run and Matt Spear and Hunter Dorraugh each had three hits to lead the San José State baseball team (22-22, 15-11 Mountain West) in a 7-2 win over San Diego State (20-24, 14-9 Mountain West) on Sunday afternoon.
- In his 4.0 innings of relief, Jansen allowed only two hits while striking out five.
- Bowling's home run came in the sixth inning, a two-run shot to break a 2-2 tie. The home run was the third baseman's team-leading ninth of the season.
- Hardy joined his teammate in the home run club in the very next inning. The Berkeley native hit his second home run of 2023.
- Both of Hardy's two hits were extra base knocks, as in addition to the home run he also hit a double.
- Spear and Dorraugh each went 3-for-4.
- RHP Aaron Eden started the contest and pitched 3.0 innings, surrendering only one run on two hits while striking out two.
- LHP Jesse Gutierrez entered in relief of Eden and completed 2.0 innings, giving up only one run on three hits while striking out three.
