ATHENS, Ga.—On moving day, the Spartans made the move up the leaderboard, led by Mountain West Player of the Year Kajsa Arwefjäll who shot a 2-under 70, as the No. 9 San José State women's golf team is solidly in third place after two rounds of the NCAA Athens Regional played at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

- Three Spartans finished the day in the top-15 of the individual standings. Antonia Malate is tied for 10th at even-par 144 after shooting her second consecutive 72 of the regional.
- She made three birdies and 13 pars over the round, making pars on seven of her eight holes and a birdie.
- Arwefjäll jumped 18 places and is now tied for 12th at 1-over 145. She made three birdies, 14 pars and one bogey during her round. Arwefjäll shot 2-under on the back nine.
- She, along with Isabella Holpfer of Georgia, lead the field in pars made with 29.
- Lucia Lopez Ortega moved up 15 places after shooting a 1-under 71 and is tied for 15th at 2-over 146.
- She had almost the same card as Arwefjäll, only switched. She shot 2-under on the front nine with birdies on holes 3 and 7, and had eight pars and a bogey on the back nine.
- Rebecca Gyllner shot a 79 in the second round and is not tied for 41st at 8-over 152.
- Louisa Carlbom rebounded on Tuesday with a 3-over 75 and is tied for 53rd at 12-over 156. She made four birdies on the day and finished the round going birdie-birdie-par.
- San José State moved into sole possession of third place after shooting an even-par 288 in the second round. The Spartans are six shots ahead of fourth-place Maryland and eight shots in front of Augusta and Ohio State in the team standings. Host Georgia leads the field at 15-under followed by South Carolina at 5-under.
- The top-five teams after the round on Wednesday will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 19-24, at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Final-round action begins Wednesday morning at 9:09 a.m. ET/6:09 a.m. PT for the Spartans. The team will play with Georgia and South Carolina. The Spartans and Gamecocks played two rounds together at the Landfall Tradition in late October.
