SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its 2023 women's tennis regional rankings on Friday, and San José State finished eighth in the Northwest Region.
- The Spartans ended their season in the Mountain West Tournament semifinals, after defeating No. 1 seed Wyoming (ranked fifth in the Mountain Region) 4-2 in the quarterfinals.
- Other wins notable included back-to-back 4-2 wins over New Mexico and Air Force – who was No. 1 in the Mountain West standings at the time and is ranked No. 8 in the Mountain Region – as well as a road win at Boise State (No. 9 Mountain Region).
- Carolina Millan earned All-Mountain West Singles Team honors. She went 9-7 in dual matches, splitting time between the No. 1 and No. 2 positions in the lineup during the regular season. She also earned a singles win against Air Force in the Mountain West Tournament from the No. 1 position.
- The Spartans will return five of their six singles players for the 2023-24 season.
