SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State women's tennis team was named an ITA All-Academic Team, while seven Spartans were named ITA Scholar Athletes, the organization announced Monday.
To qualify as an All-Academic Team, a team must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above. To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete, the athlete must carry a GPA of at least 3.5 in the current academic year.
"Congratulations to the team for this amazing academic achievement," head coach Chad Skorupka said. "The hard work in the classroom shows the team's commitment to academics. I would also like to thank Subrina Martin, Tennis Team Acadmic Counselor, for all her work in helping this team reach these awards."
