SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State sophomore Xuan Luo qualified for the 2023 US Amateur on Monday after winning his qualifier in Allendale, Mich. He shot 65 (-6) in his first round, followed by a 71 (+1) in the second round for a 5-under-par total of 137 to take first place. The US Amateur will take place August 14-20 at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colo.
- Luo competed in two tournaments for the Spartans during his freshman season.
- He shot his low round of 70 in the second round of the Bandon Dunes Invitational on March 13.
