ARLINGTON, Texas—Two freshmen from the San José State men's soccer team, Riccardo Scarafia and Bennett Richards, have been announced as Freshmen/Transfer Academic All-WAC recipients. To be eligible for Academic All-WAC recognition, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year and have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average.
Riccardo Scarafia, Forward, Cuneo, Italy
- Made 16 appearances and started 13 games
- Scored one goal on 23 shot attempts
- Recorded two assists in 1017 minutes of action
- Named to the WAC All-Freshman Team
Bennett Richards, Forward, Lompoc, Calif.
- Made five appearances for the Spartans and totaled 41 minutes of action
- Registered a shot on goal in his first career appearance, against Sacramento State on August 28
- Entered the game as a substitute in the Spartans' 2-1 win over Incarnate Word on October 8
