NORMAN, Okla. – Kris Stiles of the San José State men's golf team was named a BCGCA All-American, the organization announced Tuesday, after putting together a stellar 2022-23 season.

The Black College Golf Coaches Association and Golf Coaches Association of America have partnered to present the second annual BCGCA Awards. The awards honor black college golfers from all backgrounds and across all divisions of college golf.

  • Named to the inaugural Black College Golf Coaches Association (BCGCA) All-America team (2021-22)
  • Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Athlete (2021-22)
  • Earned Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Recognition (2021-22)
  • Three-time Academic All-Mountain West selection (2020-21, '21-22, '22-23)
  • Two-time Mountain West Scholar Athlete (2020-21, '21-22)
  • Won 2022 Sammy Award for Academic Rising Star
  • Won the 2023 Audie Murphy Leadership Award at the Sammys
  • GCAA All-America Scholar
  • Played 27 rounds in 10 tournaments
  • Third on the team in scoring average at 72.93
  • Second on the team with six rounds in the 60s and 11 rounds at par or better
  • Best finish was a tie for 10th at the Mountain West Championship with a nine-under par 207 (71-69-67)
  • Also tied for 10th at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational with a four-under par 212 (69-72-71)
  • Lowest Round was a five-under par 67 in the final round of the Mountain West Championship
  • Competed in both the APGA Black History Month Classic (finished top 10) and the John Shippen Invitational
