SAN JOSE, Calif. — San José State Athletics has partnered with Musco Lighting to produce a new state-of-the-art LED lighting system, which will be on display at CEFCU stadium for Spartan football games this season. The addition of the new lights is another investment by SJSU Athletics to enhance the fan experience inside CEFCU stadium.
"With the addition of the new Spartan Athletics Center, and the LED lights, we anticipate one of the top gameday experiences in the Mountain West," said Director of Athletics Jeff Konya. "We have an incredible home schedule and the excitement of our team and these great additions continue to build. We look forward to another great season at CEFCU Stadium which begins with a national TV game against Oregon State on September 3rd on CBS."
The custom designed Total Light Control - TLC for LED™ system will include pinpoint precision to shine more light on the field and come equipped with a variety of Show-Light® special effects to enhance the gameday experience with choreographed light shows.
A total of 126 Total Light Control - TLC for LED™ luminaires were installed throughout the stadium including at the new Spartan Athletics Center and they can produce six pre-programmed and theatrical light shows. By installing these new lights, it will also reduce energy and maintenance costs by 50 to 85 percent and bringing in rental lights will not be needed for the first time for football games.
The lighting system will be prominently featured on national television when the Spartans host Air Force on Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. on FS1 and tickets can be purchased here.
