Shetler Leads SJSU in First Day of Alister MacKenzie Invitational

FAIRFAX, Calif. -  Caleb Shetler fired a 134 (-8) to lead San José State men's golf through the first two rounds of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational at Meadow Club on Monday.

  • The first and second rounds were played on the first day of the tournament.
  • SJSU finished the day in fourth out of 14 teams with a 544 (-24).
  • Shetler is in a tie for 10th after firing a 66 (-5) in round one and a 68 (-3) in round two.
  • Zubair Firdaus shot a 136 (-6).
  • Xuan Luo carded a 137 (-5).
  • Firdaus is tied for 15th while Luo is tied for 18th.
  • Carl Corpus shot a 139 (-3) and finished the day tied for 27th.
  • Ivan Barahona recorded an impressive 67 (-4) in the second round.
  • The Spartans had nine rounds at par or better.
