PALO ALTO, Calif. – Cheuk Ying Shek had a stellar performance at the ITA Regionals on Saturday, advancing all the way to the round of 16 of the singles tournament.
- The Spartan freshman won her round of 32 match against Elena Mercioiu out of Sacramento State 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the final 16.
- Shek would then fall to the No. 2 overall seed Alexandra Yepifanova out of Stanford 6-3, 6-2.
- Rozalina Youseva and Shek fell short 8-4 in their round-of-32 doubles matchup against their opponents from Sacramento State.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will compete in their final tournament of the fall starting on October 27 when they compete in the Saint Mary's Fall Invite in Moraga, Calif.
