SAN JOSE, Calif. - Riccardo Scarafia scored in the 44th minute to lead the San José State men's soccer team (6-5-4, 3-2-1 WAC) in a 1-0 victory over Grand Canyon (6-5-2, 1-2-1) on Sunday afternoon.
- The Spartans' goalkeeper, David Sweeney, made five saves to earn his school-record 20th career shutout.
- Scarafia netted his second goal of the season and led the Spartans with two shots on goal.
- Jamal Adam, Angel Iniguez and Gilberto Rivera each recorded a shot on goal.
- Six Spartans played all 90 minutes.
- The Spartans honored Sweeney and Adam along with other graduating seniors, Joel Garcia Jr., Isaac Lomeli, Kasper Poulsgaard and Josh Redfield, in a ceremony before the match.
