SAN JOSE, Calif. - Thomas Walker, the associate head coach for San José State Baseball, has been named one of the top 100 assistant coaches in the country by D1baseball.com.
- Walker helped guide the Spartans to back-to-back appearances in the Mountain West Championship Game in 2022 and 2023.
- In 2023, he helped lead SJSU to its first-ever Mountain West title and first appearance at an NCAA Regional since 2002.
- Under Walker's tutelage, several Spartans have produced record power numbers. Hunter Dorraugh, Charles McAdoo and Dalton Bowling rank in the top 10 for most career home runs by a Spartan and Dorraugh tied the SJSU single-season record with 15 home runs in 2022.
- Two of Walker's former position players, Ruben Ibarra and McAdoo, were selected in the MLB Draft as Ibarra was chosen in the fourth round in 2021 and McAdoo was picked in the 13th round in 2023.
- Walker has been with San José State for four seasons as he joined the team as an assistant coach in 2020 and was promoted to associate head coach before the 2023 season.
