STANFORD, Calif.—Darae Chung shot the low round for the Spartan women’s golf team on Saturday as San José State was 12 shots better in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate and moved into a tie for 14th place Saturday.
- Chung shot an even-par 71 and is tied for 36th place at 3-over 145. She made four birdies during the second round including three on holes 13, 14 and 16.
- Lucia Lopez Ortega shot a 1-over 72 in the second round and is tied for 41st at 4-over 146.
- She was 4-under for her first 12 holes of the day including her second eagle of the season on the par-t 12th hole.
- Louisa Carlbom shot a 2-over 73 and is tied for 61st at 6-over 148 with two birdies and 13 pars on the day.
- Rebecca Gyllner shot a 1-over 72 and is 67th at 7-over 149, while Tessa Kresmser is tied for 89th at 13-over 155.
- The Spartans were 12 shots better in the second round, shooting a 288, and moved into a tie for 14th place with Oregon.
- Moa Andersson, playing as an individual, shot her first collegiate round in the 60s with a 3-under 68, and is tied for 16th place at even-par 142.
UP NEXT – Final round action begins Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The Spartans will begin on holes 12-15 and play with Washington, Oregon and Iowa State. Admission is free to the tournament.
