EDINBURG, Texas - Angel Iniguez scored two goals to lead the San José State men's soccer team (6-7-4, 3-4-1 WAC) in a 3-2 loss to UTRGV (5-9-1, 2-5-1 WAC) on Thursday night in Texas. Despite the defeat, the Spartans clinched a berth in the WAC Tournament because of a Grand Canyon loss to Air Force.
- The WAC Tournament will be held in Las Vegas from Nov 5-11.
- For the Spartans, it will be their seventh straight appearance in the tournament.
- Iniguez now leads the Spartans with seven goals on the season.
- Sebastian Ruiz-Hurst and Jamal Adam assisted on the first goal while the second goal was unassisted.
- Iniguez led the Spartans in the match with four shots.
- David Sweeney made four saves.
