COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State women's soccer players, Sabrina Weinman and Kennedy Mayo, were named to Mountain West all-conference teams on Sunday morning. Weinman garnered first-team recognition while Mayo was listed on the all-newcomer team.
Sabrina Weinman, Midfielder, Graduate Student, Bakersfield, Calif./South HS
- Started and played at least 79 minutes in all 11 conference matches
- Led the team with four goals and two assists in conference play, finishing in the top 10 in the Mountain West in both categories.
- A set-piece specialist, two of the goals came from direct free kicks and the other two were from the penalty spot.
- Scored goals in back-to-back matches twice this season.
- 14 of her 23 shots in conference play were on goal (60.9%).
- This is her third all-conference selection as she was named to the all-second team in 2022 and the all-newcomer team in 2019.
Kennedy Mayo, Forward, Junior, Pleasanton, Calif./Arizona State/Amador Valley HS
- Started in 10 conference matches.
- Recorded two goals and two assists in conference play.
- Seven of her 12 shots in conference play were on goal (58.3%).
- Recorded at least one point in three straight matches to open the conference season.
- FInished second on the team in points in conference play with six.
