San Jose State

Spartan Head Coach Todd Kress

  • Head coach Todd Kress is in his first season at the helm of the program.
  • Came to San José State after two coaching stints at Fairfield University where he led the program to five NCAA Tournament appearances

Wyoming

  • The Cowgirls enter Thursday night’s match with a 12-4 overall record and 1-5 MW mark after winning 3-1 Tuesday night over Colorado State.
  • Head coach Kaylee Prigge is in her first season at the helm of the Wyoming program after serving as the associate head coach the past two seasons.
  • Wyoming leads the overall series, 14-8, but San José State has won the past three matches.
  • The Spartans have a 4-6 record playing in Laramie. Three wins over Wyoming in Laramie are 5-set victories - November 21, 1987, April 3, 2021, and November 4, 2021, while the team won 3-1, in 2022.

Colorado State

  • The Rams enter Saturday’s match with an 8-8 overall record and a 2-3 MW mark.
  • The team’s MW wins came at home against San Diego State (3-1) and UNLV (3-0) last week.
  • Head coach Emily Kohan is in her first season at the helm of the program but has been an assistant and associate head coach with the Rams since 2015.
  • Colorado State leads the overall series, 19-9, but the Spartans won both meetings last season.
  • The Spartans are 2-12 in matches in Fort Collins or Moby Arena, with both wins coming last year. SJSU won for the first time over Colorado State in Moby Arena in a 3-2 match on October 8, 2022. The Spartans went 1-1 at the 2022 MW Tournament played in Moby Arena. The team defeated San Diego State, 3-1, in the semifinals before falling 3-1 to Utah State in the championship match.

San José State returns home for three consecutive home matches, starting with Boise State on Thursday, October 12, at 6 p.m. The team then hosts Utah State on the 14th at 1 p.m., and New Mexico on Thursday the 19th at 6 p.m. All home matches are played at Spartan Gym inside the YUH Complex. Admission is free for all home matches.
