Sweeney Sets Career-Saves Record At UNLV

LAS VEGAS – David Sweeney moved to the top of the San José State career-saves list on Thursday as the Spartans (4-4-4, 1-1-1 WAC) fell 2-0 to UNLV (3-5-2, 1-1 WAC) in Las Vegas.

  • After recording two saves in the first half, Sweeney set the record in the 50th minute with his third save of the match.
  • The senior goalkeeper finished with four saves, putting his career total at 255 saves.
  • The Spartans totaled 10 shots in the contest.
  • Joel Garcia Jr., Anthony Guzman and Riccardo Scarafia each had a shot on goal.
  • Four Spartans tallied 90 minutes.
