ST. GEORGE, Utah. – David Sweeney added another career record on Sunday, moving into first place on the career-shutouts list after San José State (5-4-4, 2-1-1 WAC) knocked off Utah Tech (6-5, 2-1 WAC) 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
- The shutout is Sweeney's 19th in his career.
- The senior keeper broke the career-saves record on Thursday at UNLV.
- The Spartans got the lead after a 25th-minute goal from Angel Fernandez on the assists from Gaku Nishimura.
- The goal was Fernandez's first of the season, and the assist was Nishimura's fifth.
- Nishimura was rewarded for his assist when he added to the Spartans' lead in the 33rd minute on the assist from Jamal Adam.
- The goal is Nishimura's third of the season, and it's Adam's first assist of the year.
- Mario Barocio scored his first goal of the season with just a few seconds remaining to make it 3-0.
- Sweeney added to his career-saves total with four in the shutout win.
