SAN JOSE, Calif.—San José State volleyball player Jiana Lawson has been named to the 2023 Academic All-District Volleyball Team®, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

- Starting middle blocker for the Spartans
- Graduating next week with her degree in communication studies
- Averaged 1.45 kills, 1.25 blocks and 0.38 digs per set
- Recorded 114 blocks assists on the season, good for the seventh-highest single-season total in school history
- Had 139 total blocks, tying for the fifth-highest total in SJSU history
- 11 blocks in a win over Portland, just the 11th player in school history to record 11 blocks in a match
- Five or more blocks in 14 matches
- Academic All-Mountain West honoree
