SAN JOSE, Calif. - Myron (MJ) Amey Jr. produced 15 points to lead the San José State men's basketball team (6-6, 0-0 MW) in an 86-75 loss to Montana (6-4, 0-0 Big Sky) inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center on Sunday afternoon.
- Amey Jr. was one of six Spartans to score in double figures as Tibet Görener, Latrell Davis, Alvaro Cardenas, William Humer and Diogo (DJ) Seixas all registered more than 10 points.
- The last time the Spartans had six players in double figures was earlier this season in a 117-72 victory over Bethesda on Nov. 9.
- Görener tallied 13 points and was 3-for-6 from 3-point range. With 135 career 3-pointers made while at San José State, he is now fourth all-time for most career 3-pointers made by a Spartan and is three away from tying Adrian Oliver (2009-11) for third.
- Davis recorded 12 points and grabbed a career-high six rebounds.
- Seixas contributed 10 points, getting into double figures for the second straight game as he had 11 points last Saturday against New Orleans.
- Humer tied his career high of 11 points.
- Cardenas filled the stat sheet with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Amey Jr. tied his season high of three steals.
- In the first half, the Spartans posted 40 points. It was their 10th time scoring 40 or more points in a half this season and their fourth straight period accomplishing the feat.
- Garrett Anderson brought down a career-high four rebounds and made his first 3-pointer of the season.
- Rickey Mitchell Jr. dished out a career-high three assists.
