SJSU Softball Signs Two More For 2024-25

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Kaylani Marie Lim and Gigi Ortega signed National Letters of Intent with SJSU softball, announced by head coach Tammy Lohmann on Thursday. The new additions will join the softball program in the fall of 2024. 

"We're excited to announce the signing of Gigi and Kaylani to our 2024 Spartans class," head coach Tammy Lohmann said. "Both of them are local talents that are fierce competitors and play with such passion for the game. They possess the tools and intangibles to continue to raise the level of play. Gigi is a exceptional athlete, with a great glove and range, gap power that will drive in runs, and is a tremendous leader with high softball IQ. Kaylani is very determined and driven athlete, and plays a solid corner with a powerful bat at the plate. We cannot wait to have them on campus with the addition of Taylor Peacock and Sarah Deplitch in the fall."

Gigi Ortega, 5-4, INF, South San Francisco, Calif./Mercy High School

  • Played four seasons at Mercy HS (Three-time captain)
  • Most Valuable Player WBAL from West Bay Athletic League (2023)
  • Most Valuable Player from Mercy High School (2023)
  • Ranked #9 Infielder in the Nation class of 2024 from Extra Innings
  • Ranked #38 Regional Player class of 2024 from Extra Innings
  • Ranked #97 overall Player for class of 2024 from Extra Innings

The Spartans signed Sarah Deplitch and Taylor Peacock also for the 2024-25 season earlier this offseason.
