Spartans Back At Home To Take On Nevada

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State women's basketball team (6-9, 1-2 MW) returns home for their first of two in a row at the Provident Credit Union Event Center on Saturday to take on Nevada (7-9, 1-2 MW) in more Mountain West action.

  • The Spartans are coming off a 91-55 loss at UNLV to close out their first Mountain West road trip of the season.
  • Jyah LoVett tied her career high with 26 points in the game.
  • LoVett has scored 20+ points in three-straight games to open her Mountain West career and is the reigning Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the second time she's earned the honor this season.
  • LoVett ranks second in the Mountain West in scoring (24.3 PPG), third in FG percentage (55.1), first in 3PT percentage/made per game (76.9/3.33 per game), tied for first in FT percentage (1.000) and fifth in minutes played (35.3) during conference play.
  • Amhyia Moreland ranks sixth in the Mountain West in total rebounding at 7.33 per game during league play, and is tied for second in offensive rebounds per game at 3.0 per game.
  • The Spartans rank first in the Mountain West during conference play in 3PT percentage (44.2) and second in 3PT made per game (7.6).
  • The Spartans are looking for their first win over Nevada since Jan. 9, 2019, when they knocked off the Wolfpack 72-70 in overtime.
