USAFA, Colo. - Myron (MJ) Amey Jr. hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to power the San José State men's basketball team (8-9, 1-3 MW) to a 70-67 win over Air Force (7-8, 0-3 MW) on Saturday night.

  • Amey Jr. led the Spartans with 16 points and nine rebounds.
  • Alvaro Cardenas produced a near double-double with 11 points and nine assists.
  • Tibet Görener scored 15 points.
  • Multiple Spartans made clutch shots down the stretch. Cardenas knocked down a 3-pointer with 1:58 left to bring the Spartans within two. Trey Anderson connected from beyond the arc with 1:19 remaining to give the Spartans a 67-66 lead.
  • Diogo (DJ) Seixas tallied six points and tied his career high of two 3-pointers.
  • Adrame Diongue recorded a game-high two blocks.
  • The Spartans shot 62.1 percent in the first half, their best field-goal percentage in a first half this season. Their highest field-goal percentage in a half this year was 69.4 percent in the second half versus Bethesda on Nov. 9, 2023.
