LARAMIE, Wyo. - Alvaro Cardenas filled the stat sheet with 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists to lead the San José State men's basketball team (7-7, 0-1 MW) in a 75-73 loss at Wyoming (8-6, 1-0 MW) on Tuesday night.
- The Spartans dominated the first half, taking a 47-35 lead into the halftime break. They led for the majority of the second half but fell on a last-second shot by Wyoming's Akuel Kot.
- Wyoming only led for 40 seconds of the entire game.
- Adrame Diongue recorded a career-high four blocks. The Spartans' center has now registered at least one block in 12 straight games.
- Tibet Görener made three 3-pointers as part of his 16 points. The junior forward passed Adrian Oliver (2009-11) to move into third in SJSU history for most career 3-pointers. With 140 career threes, he is now 13 away from tying Tim Pierce (2007-09) for second.
- Cardenas went 4-for-5 from long range, tying his season high for most 3-point makes. He was also efficient from the field, connecting on eight of 13 attempts.
- Trey Anderson returned from injury and was the third Spartan in double figures as he finished with 10 points.
- Latrell Davis and Rickey Mitchell Jr. picked up their first career blocks.
- Mitchell Jr. also collected a career-high three rebounds.
