Amey Jr. Leads Spartans in Loss to No. 25 New Mexico

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Myron (MJ) Amey Jr. scored 24 points to lead the San José State men's basketball team (8-11, 1-5 MW) in a 95-75 loss to No. 25 New Mexico (17-3, 5-2 MW) on Wednesday night.

  • The Spartans tied their Provident Credit Union Event Center record with nine blocks.
  • Adrame Diongue and Trey Anderson both tied their career highs in blocks as Diongue recorded four and Anderson added three. 
  • Amey Jr. registered 20-plus points for the sixth time this season.
  • Amey Jr. nearly produced a double-double as he collected nine rebounds.
  • Alvaro Cardenas led the Spartans with 10 assists, his third time dishing out double-digit assists this season.
