SAN JOSE, Calif. - Coming off a big win to start the season, the San José State women's tennis team (1-0, 0-0 MW) will host Sacramento State (1-1, 0-0 Big Sky) in the Spartans' home opener on Saturday afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Spartan Tennis Complex.
- The Spartans won 6-1 at UC Riverside on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
- Five Spartans registered straight-set victories in singles play to clinch the win.
- Freshmen Cheuk Ying Shek and Duru Durgun picked up their first career victories in dual match play.
- In the first two matches of the season, the Sacramento State Hornets suffered a 4-3 loss at Hawaii before bouncing back with a 5-2 win at Hawaii Pacific.
- The Spartans last played the Hornets on Jan. 28, 2023 in a close contest which the Hornets took, 4-3.
- Despite the loss, Irena Muradyan and Jovana Babic earned points in singles play.
