ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Aliyah Williams set a new San José State indoor record in the 600-meter run on Friday to lead the Spartans in day one of the UNM Indoor Open. The Spartans combined for 17 personal records on the day.
WOMEN:
- Williams ran the event in 1:33.25 to set the SJSU record and finish second overall in the event.
- Emilia Sjostrand made her 2024 indoor debut in the long jump with a 6.13-meter jump to finish in third.
- Lina Schubert took sixth in the high jump at 1.65 meters.
- Savana Dutton finished in fifth place in the 600-meter run with a 1:37.54.
MEN:
- Cameron Tarver took third place in the 200-meter dash, running the event in 20.68 seconds.
- Jeremiah Walker followed with a 20.97-second run to finish seventh.
- Isaac Davis earned a seventh-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 7.18 meters, which is a personal best.
- Pablo Villasenor threw a personal best 17.41 meters in the weight throw to finish in ninth place.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will conclude the UNM Indoor Open on Saturday.
