Four Spartans Score in Double Figures in Loss to UNLV

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Myron (MJ) Amey Jr. scored 18 points to lead the San José State men's basketball team (8-12, 1-6 MW) in a 77-65 loss to UNLV (10-9, 3-4 MW) on Saturday night. 

  • Alvaro Cardenas registered 14 points and dished out a game-high six assists. 
  • Tibet Görener knocked down a game-high three 3-pointers as part of his 13 points. With 159 career threes, Görener is now only two 3-pointers away from tying Ryan Welage (2015-18) for the most made shots from beyond the arc in Spartan history. 
  • Trey Anderson was the fourth Spartan in double figures as he produced 11 points.
  • Amey Jr. led the Spartans with five rebounds.
  • The Spartans opened the contest by making their first eight shots.
  • As a team, the Spartans shot 61.5 percent in the first 20 minutes and took a seven-point lead into the halftime break.
  • The conference leader in blocks per game, Adrame Diongue, recorded one rejection.
  • The game was presented by Rubenstein Supply Company.
