WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - The San José State men's golf team will compete in the Southwestern Invitational this Monday through Wednesday at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. hosted by Pepperdine.
- SJSU had a scoring average of 70.13 for the fall season.
- The Spartans shot an all-time low of 816 (-36) at the Ka‘anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational, which concluded their fall schedule.
- Sophomore Ivan Barahona leads the Spartans with a stroke average of 68.44.
- Following closely behind is senior Carl Corpus with a stroke average of 69.89.
- The Southwestern Invitational will feature a stacked field including No. 4 Washington, No. 18 California, No. 21 Texas Tech, Houston, USC, UCLA, Pepperdine, SDSU, UNLV, Wake Forest, Colorado and Ohio State.
- North Ranch Country Club will be a par 71 at 6,800 yards.
- The lineup for the Spartans consists of Corpus, Barahona, Caleb Shetler, Zubair Firdaus, and Xuan Luo, while Keshav Mungali will play as an individual.
- The Spartans will have a total of six scheduled tournaments in the spring semester and will begin postseason play at the Mountain West Championship on April 24-26.
NEXT UP: The Spartans will head to Kamuela, Hawaii to compete in the Amer Ari Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii-Hilo. at Mauna Lani Resort on February 8-10.
