Corpus Leads SJSU in First Day of Southwestern Invitational

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Carl Corpus fired a 68 (-3) to finish in a tie for eighth to lead San José State men's golf through the first round of the Southwestern Invitational at North Ranch Country Club on Monday.

  • SJSU finished the day in 11th out of 13 teams with a 288 (+4).
  • Corpus finished the day with four birdies and an eagle.
  • Xuan Luo recorded a 70 (-1) to finish in a tie for 16th.
  • Caleb Shetler, Ivan Barahonaand Zubair Firdaus all finished at 75 (+4) to round out the Spartan lineup.
  • On the individual side, Keshav Mungali shot a 73 (+2).
