SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State women's basketball team (6-13, 1-6 MW) returns home for some early-game action on Wednesday when they take on New Mexico (15-6, 6-2 MW) at 11 a.m. Admission for Wednesday's game is free of charge.

  • The Spartans are coming off a 63-51 loss at San Diego State.
  • Amhyia Moreland scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down a game and career-high 13 rebounds.
  • The double-double was Moreland's third of the season.
  • Moreland is sixth in the Mountain West during league play, averaging 7.43 rebounds per game. She is also third in FG percentage, shooting at a 60-percent clip from the field, and fourth in blocked shots, averaging 1.71 per game.
  • Freshman Jyah LoVett ranks in the top 10 in the Mountain West during league play in PPG (fourth), FG percentage (eighth), assists (eighth), FT percentage (third), steals (T8th), assist/turnover ratio (ninth) and minutes played (sixth).
  • The Spartans are second in the league in steals during conference play, third in rebounding defense and fourth in blocked shots.
  • The Spartans are looking for their first win over New Mexico since January 22, 2020 (89-85).
