SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jyah LoVett scored a career-high 26 points in her Mountain West debut, but the Spartans (5-8, 0-1 MW) fell 70-67 to Fresno State (9-6, 2-0 MW) in their conference opener on Wednesday night.
- LoVett scored eight of her 26 points down the stretch in the fourth quarter with a pair of 3-pointers.
- The freshman went 11-of-18 from the field and 3-of-4 from behind the arc to go along with a pair of rebounds and a pair of steals.
- Amhyia Moreland secured her second-career double-double with 18 points on 50-percent shooting and 11 rebounds, one shy of her career high.
- Sabrina Ma finished in double digits with 11 points with a pair of 3-pointers.
- Nailea Nicholas tied her career high in assists with four.
- The Spartans outshot the Bulldogs from the field, knocking down 51 percent of their total shots, compared to 41.8 percent from Fresno State.
- SJSU also outperformed Fresno State on the glass, out-rebounding the Bulldogs 30-27.
- The Spartans also had their best night from behind the arc percentage wise, going 8-for-16 for an even 50 percent.
