SAN JOSE, Calif. - Myron (MJ) Amey Jr. scored 30 points to lead the San José State men's basketball team (7-8, 0-2 MW) in a 78-69 loss to Boise State (10-4, 1-0 MW) on FS1 on Friday night.
- Amey Jr. registered 25 of his 30 points in the opening half.
- The junior guard matched his career high of five 3-pointers.
- He was efficient as he shot 11-for-18 from the field and 5-for-10 from beyond the arc.
- He also led the Spartans with six rebounds and three steals.
- Adrame Diongue recorded a career-high four blocks for the second straight game. The Spartans' center has now registered at least one block in 13 straight contests.
- Diongue also matched his career high of 10 points.
- Alvaro Cardenas distributed a game-high seven assists.
- The Spartans won the turnover battle, 15-7.
- Both teams depended on their starting units for points as the Spartans' bench outscored Boise State's, 4-0.
- 30 is the most points scored by a Spartan this season. Amey Jr. had the previous single-game high when he produced 29 against New Orleans on Dec. 9, 2023. His career high is 32 points which he set against Bethesda on Jan. 8, 2022.
- Amey Jr. is the first Spartan since Omari Moore to score 30 or more points in a game. Moore tallied 33 points at Air Force on March 4, 2023.
