LAS VEGAS – The San José State women's basketball team (6-8, 1-1 MW) travels to Las Vegas to take on UNLV (12-1, 2-0 MW) on Wednesday night following their first Mountain West win over the weekend.
- The Spartans are coming off a 69-54 win at Utah State on Saturday, their first Mountain West win of the season.
- Jyah LoVett was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 23.5 points per game in her first two career Mountain West games.
- The freshman scored her new career-high 26 points in her Mountain West debut against Fresno State, and followed that up with 21 points at Utah State on Saturday.
- LoVett ranks in the top 10 in the Mountain West in steals (1st), PPG (6th), assists (7th), FT percentage (3rd), assists/turnover ratio (7th) and minutes played (7th).
- Amhyia Moreland ranks atop the Mountain West in FG percentage at 59.3 percent.
- Moreland is also top five in the league in offensive rebounds (3rd) and blocks (4th), and is sixth in the Mountain West in overall rebounding, averaging 6.71 per game.
- The win over Utah State matched last season's total win count (6) through just 14 games.
- The Spartans are looking for their first win over UNLV since Feb. 27, 2020, when they knocked off the Rebels 76-63.
