SAN JOSE, Calif. – Amhyia Moreland scored a game-high 18 points to lead San José State (6-17, 1-10 MW), but the Spartans fell just short against San Diego State (16-9, 7-5 MW), losing 63-62 on Saturday afternoon.
- Moreland went 7-for-9 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the contest.
- The junior forward also pulled down five rebounds.
- Sofia Kelemeni scored a career-high 12 points and dished out a career-high five assists.
- Kelemeni went 4-for-6 from behind the arc and also pulled down six rebounds.
- Freshman Sydni Summers rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Spartans with 11 points and a pair of 3-pointers.
- The Spartans held the lead for over 26 minutes in the contest.
- SJSU also out-rebounded the Aztecs 38-27 with 15 offensive rebounds.
- The Spartans also out-shot San Diego State at 44.2 percent to 37 percent by the Aztecs.
- The Spartans bench combined for 18 points in the contest.
