Spartans Welcome Air Force to San Jose Tuesday Night

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State men's basketball team (8-16, 1-10 MW) will host the Air Force Falcons (8-15, 1-10 MW) on Tuesday night inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Bay Area and KTRB 860 AM. Tickets can be purchased here.

RECORD WATCH

  • Tibet Görener is the all-time leader in San José State history in 3-pointers made with 163.
  • Cardenas and T. Anderson are also in the top 10 in 3-pointers. Cardenas is tied for seventh with 123 and T. Anderson is tied for ninth with 121.
  • T. Anderson ranks fourth in school history in 3-point percentage (among players who have played in at least 50 games and averaged one or more 3-point attempts per game). His career mark from beyond the arc is 41.4 percent, connecting on 121 of 292 attempts.
  • Cardenas ranks sixth all-time for most career assists at SJSU with 338.

WHERE THE SPARTANS RANK IN 2023-24

  • The Spartans are second in the Mountain West Conference in 3-pointers made per game at 8.83, behind only Air Force.
  • Cardenas ranks 27th and 25th in Division I in assists per game (5.8) and assist/turnover ratio (2.98). In the conference, he is fifth and fourth in the two categories.
  • Diongue is third in the conference and is tied for 75th in the country in blocks per game at 1.57.

VS. AIR FORCE

  • The Air Force Falcons are 1-10 this season in conference play as their only conference win was over UNLV on Jan. 23.
  • The Spartans defeated the Falcons, 70-67, on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Amey Jr. on Jan. 13.
  • In the contest, Amey Jr. led the Spartans with 16 points and nine rebounds, Görener registered 15 points and Cardenas produced a near double-double performance of 11 points and nine assists. 
  • The Spartans have won the last three meetings versus Air Force.
  • The Spartans are 12-13 all-time against the Falcons.
