SAN JOSE, Calif. - Myron (MJ) Amey Jr. scored 25 points and Alvaro Cardenas added 22 to lead the San José State men's basketball team (9-16, 2-10 MW) in a 73-66 win over Air Force (8-16, 1-11 MW) on Tuesday night.
- Amey Jr. tied his career high of eight made free throws and led the Spartans with four rebounds, three steals and one block.
- Amey Jr. was perfect from beyond the arc, connecting on all three of his 3-point attempts.
- Cardenas knocked down a career-high 10 free throws on 12 attempts.
- As a team, the Spartans attempted a season-high 26 free throws and made 20.
- Garrett Anderson was a game-high +18 and dished out a career-high four assists.
- The Spartans dominated on the inside, besting Air Force in paint points, 44-24.
- The Spartans shot a blistering 75 percent (15-for-20) in the second half and outscored Air Force in the frame, 42-32.
- It was the second time this season that Amey Jr. and Cardenas both scored more than 20 points as Cardenas recorded 21 and Amey Jr. produced 20 in an 81-78 loss to San Diego State on Jan. 9, 2024.
