OFFENSE ERUPTS AGAINST AIR FORCE

  • In the Spartans most recent game, a 73-66 victory over Air Force on Tuesday night, the Spartans shot a blistering 64.1 percent (25-for-39) from the field for the game and 75 percent (15-for-20) in the second half.
  • The Spartans made 20 free throws on a season-high 26 attempts.
  • Myron (MJ) Amey Jr. and Alvaro Cardenas led the Spartans offensively with both players scoring more than 20 points in the same game for the second time this season.
  • Amey Jr. registered 25 points, shooting 7-for-12 from the field, 3-for-3 from 3-point range and 8-for-10 from the free-throw line as he tied his career high in free-throws made and set his new career high in free-throws attempted.
  • Cardenas produced 22 points, shooting 6-for-9 from the field while also setting a new career high in free-throws made with 10 and free-throws attempted with 12.
  • The Spartans dominated on the inside, outscoring the Falcons in the paint, 44-24.

  • Tibet Görener is the all-time leader in San José State history in 3-pointers made with 163.
  • Cardenas and Trey Anderson are also in the top 10 in 3-pointers. Cardenas is tied for seventh with 123 and T. Anderson is tied for ninth with 121.
  • T. Anderson ranks fourth in school history in 3-point percentage (among players who have played in at least 50 games and averaged one or more 3-point attempts per game). His career mark from beyond the arc is 41.4 percent, connecting on 121 of 292 attempts.
