SAN DIEGO – Hunter Dorraugh hit his first home run of 2024 and 26th in his Spartan career to tie the all-time record as the San José State baseball team (0-3, 0-0 MW) fell 12-11 to UC San Diego (3-0, 0-0 Big West) in the final game of the series on Sunday.
- Dorraugh finished the day 2-for-5 with a home run and single.
- He drove in two runs and scored three runs of his own.
- Nathan Cadena had a strong day as the Spartan designated hitter, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs and a double.
- Dalton Bowling also hit his first home run of the season while driving in three and scoring three while drawing a pair of walks.
- Bowling now has 23-career home runs, moving him into a tie for fourth all time.
- Matt Spear went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and scored a run.
- Robert Hamchuk had a pair of hits, including a triple, while scoring two runs.
- Michael Rice made his Spartan debut on the mound, striking out three in four and two-thirds innings of work.
