COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State women's tennis player, Cheuk Ying Shek, was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
- Ying Shek previously earned the honor on January 31, 2024.
- She went 2-0 to lead the Spartans in a 4-3 win over Saint Mary's on Friday, Feb. 16.
- The native of Hong Kong won in straight sets in the No. 3 singles flight, 6-4, 6-1.
- She also recorded a victory in the No. 1 doubles flight, 6-2.
- Ying Shek and her doubles partner, Irena Muradyan, are undefeated together on the season with a 4-0 record on court one.
