FULLERTON, Calif. - The San José State women's tennis team (4-0, 0-0 Mountain West) will battle CSU Fullerton (4-1, 0-0 Big West) on Friday, Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m. and CSUN (3-0, 1-0 Big West) on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m.
- The Spartans are 4-0 on the season with wins over UC Riverside, Sacramento State, Cal Poly and Saint Mary's.
- In the most recent match, the Spartans recorded a 4-3 win over Saint Mary's for their first win in Moraga, Calif. since 2003.
- Cheuk Ying Shek was dominant in the match as she went 2-0 with wins in the No. 1 doubles flight and No. 3 singles flight.
- In recognition of her performance, Ying Shek was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. She previously earned the honor on January 31, 2024.
- Ying Shek and her doubles partner Irena Muradyan are 4-0 together on court one.
- Duru Durgun and Rozalina Youseva are also undefeated together this season with a 3-0 record on court three.
- Carolina Millan has been the Spartans' leader in singles play with a perfect 4-0 record in the No. 1 singles flight.
- The CSU Fullerton Titans are coming off a 4-2 win over UC San Diego. Their only loss of the season was a 4-3 defeat at Fresno State.
- The CSUN Matadors picked up a 5-2 win over Santa Clara in their most recent match.
