SAN JOSE, Calif. – Keaton Chase tossed five strong innings in his first start of the season, while Sebastian Orduno earned a pair of base knocks as San José State (3-5, 0-0 MW) knocked off Santa Clara (4-3, 0-0 WCC) 5-2 on Tuesday evening.
- Chase gave the Spartans five much-needed innings on the mound, striking out a pair while only surrendering one run.
- Orduno went 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI and drew two walks.
- Dalton Bowling hit his first double of the season and drove in a run.
- Kimo Fukofuka also earned an extra-base hit, his second double of the season.
- Zach Griffin and Nathan Cadena both brought in a run in the game.
- Drew Stapleton earned the win in his season debut, pitching two innings of relief with a strikeout.
- Casey Spencer struck out one in his lone inning of relief.
