SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State women's tennis team (2-0, 0-0 MW) will take to the court at the Spartan Tennis Complex on Friday, Feb. 9 against Cal Poly (3-0, 1-0 Big West). First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.
- The contest will be a battle of two undefeated teams as both the Spartans and the Mustangs have yet to lose this season.
- The Spartans opened the 2024 campaign with a 6-1 win over UC Riverside before securing a 5-2 victory over Sacramento State.
- Carolina Millan and Cheuk Ying Shek were named the Mountain West Player of the Week and the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, respectively, in recognition of their dominance in the two wins. Click here for more information.
- Millan went 4-0, playing on court one in singles and court two in doubles.
- Ying Shek played to a 3-1 record, competing in the No. 2 singles flight and the No. 1 doubles flight.
- Millan's playing partner in doubles, Jovana Babic, is a perfect 4-0 on the year with two wins alongside Millan and a pair of victories in the No. 6 singles flight.
- Rozalina Youseva has excelled in singles play with a couple of straight-set victories on court four.
- The Spartans last played the Mustangs on Feb. 25, 2023 in a match which the Mustangs won, 4-1.
