SAN JOSE, Calif. – Reina Zermeno hit a walk-off RBI single driving in Haley Reeve to lead San José State softball (9-10, 0-0 MW) in a 2-1 win over North Dakota State (10-17, 0-0 Summit) on the final day of the Silicon Valley Classic II from Spartan Softball Stadium.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Spartans put runners on second and third with one out when Zermeno crushed a fly ball over the right fielders head to drive in the winning run and send the team home with a weekend ending win.
- Zermeno went 1-for-3 on the day with the game winning RBI.
- Alexis Toner got the win with 3.1 IP while striking out three and only giving up one hit.
- Toner pitched in every game of the SVC II and posted a 1.79 ERA over 15.2 IP.
- Toner's lone runs she let in were against No. 6 Stanford and she struck out 10 over the weekend.
- Aubrie Thomas went 3-for-4 in the game and hit .462 with six hits, one RBI and one run scored in the SVC II.
- Reeve went 2-for-3 and scored the game-winning run.
- Reeve is on a career-best four game hit streak.
- Korie Thomas went 1-for-3 with an RBI double.
- Mia Reynolds started the game and had five strikeouts through 3.2 IP.
- The Spartans went 3-2 during the SVC II.
