Spartans Drop First Game of Series Against New Mexico

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Shay McDowell went 2-for-4 with her first triple of the season and Alexis Toner was strong in relief to lead San José State softball (9-11, 0-1 MW) in a 6-5 loss to New Mexico (8-21, 1-0 MW) in the first game of this three game series opening up Mountain West play from Spartan Softball Stadium.
