SAN JOSE, Calif. – Mia Reynolds threw her second complete game of the season to lead San José State softball (10-11, 1-1 MW) in a 4-1 win against New Mexico (8-22, 1-1 MW) in the second game of this three game series opening up Mountain West play from Spartan Softball Stadium.
Reynolds started strong and finished strong going all seven innings while also tallying five strikeouts which matches her career high in innings pitched and punchouts. The offense came alive to protect their pitcher Reynolds with six hits and scoring one run in the first, two in the third and one in the fourth inning.
- Shay McDowell went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
- Taylor Squires went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored.
- Aubrie Thomas went 1-for-2 with a run scored.
- Haley Reeve went 1-for-1 with a run scored.
- Reynolds five strike outs matches her career high in Ks against NDSU (2/16).
- Reynolds 7 IP also tied her career high in IP against Cal Poly (3/10).
- Ahmiya Noriega went 1-for-3 with a single.
- Reina Zermeno had one RBI on a sac fly.
