Spartans Drop Rubber Match Against Fresno State

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Robert Hamchuk had a pair of hits to lead the Spartans, but San José State (7-13, 3-6 MW) fell 6-2 in the series finale to Fresno State (14-5, 4-2 MW) on Sunday afternoon.

  • Hamchuk finished 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a run.
  • Dalton Bowling had the lone extra-base hit with a double in a 1-for-3 outing.
  • Kimo Fukofuka drove in the tying run to make it 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth, going 1-for-3 at the plate.
  • Michael Rice got the start on the mound, striking out one batter in four innings.

UP NEXT: The Spartans will travel to cross-town rival Santa Clara on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
