COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—San José State women’s gymnasts Lauren Macpherson and Mia Nelson have been honored by the Mountain West for their performances last Friday night against California and UC Davis.
Lauren Macpherson – MW Beam Specialist of the Week
- Scored a 9.925 on beam to lead the Spartans
- Helped the beam team to a 49.225
- Added a 9.925 on floor to help the floor team to a 49.475, second-highest team total in school history
- Fourth MW Beam Specialist of the Week honor
- 11th MW honor this season
Mia Nelson – MW Floor Specialist of the Week, Freshman of the Week
- Won the floor with a career-best 9.950
- Second floor title of the season
- Highest score posted by a freshman last week
- Second floor specialist honor and second freshman honor of the season
