Spartans On The Road For Non-Conference Weekend Series with LMU

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball (11-11, 2-1 Mountain West) will head south for a non-conference three game series against LMU starting with the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. from Smith Field in Los Angeles. All three games can be seen on ESPN+.

  • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at LMU
  • Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at LMU 
  • Sunday at 12:00 p.m. at LMU 

NEWS AND NOTES

  • Mia Reynolds tied two season highs in innings pitched and strikeouts with her complete game performance against New Mexico last Saturday where she went 7 IP with no earned runs and five strikeouts.
  • Reynolds currently leads the team in strikeouts and opponent batting average.
  • Haley Reeve had a season high in runs scored and tied her season highs in hits and RBIs last Sunday against New Mexico where she went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. 
  • Aneesa Almaguer set two season highs on Sunday in hits and RBIs where she went 2-for-3 with two RBIs against the Lobos.
  • Reina Zermeno went 2-for-3 with her second triple of the season, two runs scored tying her season high and two RBIs against New Mexico on Sunday. Zermeno also set a new season high in assists on defense with five.  
  • Ashley Rico went 2-for-4 with one RBI on Sunday, tying two of her season highs in hits and RBIs. 
  • Taylor Squires tied her season high in hits last Sunday against New Mexico where she went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
  • The Spartans went 2-1 last weekend in their first Mountain West series of the season against New Mexico.
  • The Spartans are 3-2 all-time against LMU and won their last matchup with the Lions 3-1 back in 2021.

NEXT GAME: The Spartans resume conference play and will be back on the road for a three game series against Boise State starting with the first game on Thursday, March 28 at 5:00 p.m. PDT from Boise, Idaho.
