Smith and Walker Finish Top Five on Day One of Stanford Invitational

Palo Alto, Calif. – Jaden Smith and Jeremiah Walker both earned top-five finishes for San José State Track & Field on day one of the Stanford Invitational on Friday. 

Stanford Invitational

  • Smith took first in the Mens 200 Dash with a time of 20.90 seconds while also placing third in the Mens 400 Dash with a time of 47.27 seconds. 
  • Walker took second in the Mens 200 Dash with a time of 20.93 seconds as well as qualified for the final on Saturday in the Mens 100 Dash Prelim with a time of 10.56 seconds. 
  • Demaris Waters took first in his Men’s 110 Hurdles Prelim heat with a time of 13.87 seconds to qualify for the final on Saturday. 
  • Malachi Snow won his heat in the Mens 110 Hurdles Prelim with a time of 14.16 seconds to also qualify for the final.
  • Snow also took his heat in the Men’s 100 Dash Prelim with a time of 10.51 seconds to qualify for the final on Saturday. 
  • Sky Hagan took first in her Women’s 100 Hurdles Prelim with a time of 13.67 seconds to qualify for the final on Saturday. 
  • Morgan Little finished second in her Women’s 100 Dash Prelim with a time 12.04 seconds to qualify for the final.  

Mike Fanelli Track Classic

  • Ashton Headley took fifth place in the Mens Shot Put with a put of 13.51 meters
  • Christopher Malone finished eighth in the Mens 400 meter with a time of 50.90 seconds. 

UP NEXT: The Spartans will close out their time in Palo Alto and Hayward on Saturday on day two of the Stanford Invitational and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. Events are scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
